
Vera C. Rubin Observatory Unveils First Images, Captures Nebulae and Thousands of Asteroids
The Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile has completed a ten-hour test run, deploying its 3.2-gigapixel camera to image millions of galaxies and Milky Way stars and capture views of the Triffid and Lagoon nebulae. In hours, it detected thousands of new asteroids as it prepares for its decade-long sky survey.
